DESIGN WITH PURPOSE.
SPACES WITH SOUL.
HOMES THAT FEEL LIKE YOU.

We believe a well-designed home should do more than look beautiful. It should support the way you live, reflect the things you love, and feel unmistakably yours.

Through thoughtful planning, meaningful details, and a deeply collaborative process, we create homes designed for real life and the people living it.

Who We Are

Nocturne Atelier was founded by Melissa Young, Sandy Lopez, and Victoria Boquin from a shared belief that great design should feel thoughtful, intentional, and deeply personal.

What began through late nights, weekends, and countless conversations grew into a studio built around the kind of design experience we wanted homeowners to have: collaborative, informed, and grounded in trust.

Each of us brings a different perspective to the table, from problem-solving and technical planning to storytelling, character, and the details that make a home feel personal.

Those differences are part of what makes Nocturne, Nocturne. We challenge ideas, see possibilities from different angles, and work together toward the same goal: creating spaces that function beautifully, feel meaningful, and belong to the people who live there.

Our Team

Melissa Young

Melissa loves helping homeowners see the potential in their spaces, especially when they feel stuck or aren't sure where to begin. With a function-first approach to design, she believes a beautiful home should work just as well as it looks.

Drawn to remodels and Universal Design, Melissa loves the problem-solving behind each project and finding thoughtful solutions that make everyday life easier.

Beyond the studio: She's a self-proclaimed homebody, Korean food enthusiast, and can happily lose hours researching construction methods. Most often, she's home with her husband, two dogs, and cat.

Co-Founder | Interior Designer

Sandy Lopez

Inspired by historic homes, layered interiors, and spaces with soul, Sandy loves seeing the potential in a home and helping clients reimagine how they experience and move through it.

Her approach is rooted in creating spaces that feel collected, meaningful, and full of life, homes that aren't defined by trends, but by the people who live there and the stories they tell.

Beyond the studio: She's usually creating something, arranging fresh flowers, planning her next adventure, or at home with Olie, Odie, Benito, and a good book.

Victoria Boquin

Victoria creates spaces that feel warm, welcoming, and deeply personal, homes that tell a story and make the people living there feel instantly at ease.

She loves layering texture, color, and materials to create interiors that feel collected, intentional, and timeless, always designing around the people who call the space home rather than the trends of the moment.

Beyond the studio: Before becoming an interior designer, Victoria served eight years as a Military Police officer and worked as a firefighter/EMT. Her daughter is her greatest source of inspiration and a constant reminder that the most meaningful homes are the ones where life happens.

BENITO

President | Office Supervisor

Benito is responsible for office supervision, meeting attendance, and making sure no one works alone. He firmly believes every beautifully designed home should include sunny nap spots, plenty of belly rubs, and accommodations for all animals.

Office credentials: Cat with dog tendencies. Plays fetch, follows his employees everywhere, and will absolutely sneak a bite of whatever you're eating.
